These subtitles are taken directly from the Viz Media English Dub DVD releases. Prior to Season 7, all subtitles were Closed Caption files, and thus ripped directly from the video without any issues. Season 7 onward all subtitles were encoded as VobSub files, thus to be used as typical text subtitles, they all needed to be rewritten as text file based subtitles using OCR. As OCR is an imperfect science, when initially writing the files, there were numerous typos which I did my best to fix using spellcheck and adding character and Pokémon names to the database so they would not be unnecessarily changed or corrected. That said, the VobSub files themselves also had NUMEROUS typos. Reviewing some of them myself as OCR went through the VobSub file, the subtitle creator—person or machine—made innumerable errors. Many were caught with spellcheck and standard grammatical settings built into the OCR software which also depended on the settings I applied to the file—I picked those I felt most pertinent and those which would not unnecessarily ask me to confirm every single line of text because...that's simply too many. Please keep all of this in mind when reviewing the subtitles. I did my best while not spending an inordinate amount of time on catching every single error, especially because the files themselves already had so many—missing words, spaces, letters, misspelled words and names, incorrect punctuation usage, the list goes on. That said, they are still largely readable and useable, if they were not, I would not have continued to make them and use them for myself. I hope they can be useful to you.
